PRINCIPLE OF TEST
The Rubella IgM assay is a two-step immunoassay for the qualitative measurement of Rubella IgM antibodies in human serum and plasma using CMIA technology, with flexible assay protocols.
In the first step, sample and Rubella recombinant antigen coated paramagnetic microparticles are combined. Rubella IgM present in the sample binds to the Rubella recombinant antigen coated microparticles. After washing, ALP-labeled mouse anti-human IgM antibody conjugate is added to create a reaction mixture in the second step. Following another wash cycle, substrate is added to the reaction mixture. The resulting chemiluminescent reaction is measured as relative light units (RLUs). A direct relationship exists between the amount of Rubella IgM in the sample and the RLUs detected by the System optics.
